About S.Gilbert
Sarah Gilbert, a local Iowa artist, has been creating and gathering her art for over two decades. Born in 1983 and raised in 'Small-town' Iowa, Sarah discovered her talent of drawing at an early age, as well as how to train her eye to the abstract art in the world around her. Sarah, or S. Gilbert, as she usually signs her art, works mostly with pencil, ink, charcoals, acrylic and watercolor paints, and other mixed medias. Frequently her subjects are trees, landscapes and abstract line drawings and designs. She credits her high school art teacher Will Hildebrandt (Ret. East Marshall) and he sister Amanda for teaching her how to improve her craft, with the enormous about of support and inspiration from family, friends, art associates and the world around her.
Sarah's works have been previously featured at the Fisher Community Center through three CIAA exhibits; "The Triple Threat Show", with fellow artists Melissa Nelson and Ben Jackson in July of 2015, "Art and the Women of Central Iowa" the following month of August, and most recently "unframed." in January of 2016. She also almost annually opens her garage made studio to the public in the late summer to sell and promote her works, and occasionally the artwork of others.
As always, I am currently accepting project requests and have a good selection of pieces for sale on the artwork page. I love feedback also, so please contact me!
